Sound card problem in FreeBSD

Unfortunately, I've made no progress in getting sound in FreeBSD on the Dell 4550. It seems that perhaps the Creative Sound Blaster emu10k1x card is just not supported in FreeBSD.
Nevertheless, some other guy claimed to have had this exact card working with the emu10k1x driver. However, he hasn't yet responded as to where he got this driver.
If this doesn't work, I mght go chasing another sound card and have a second one here in the Dell.
