As I had mentioned before, I understand that this SP3 should maybe speed up XP by about 10% (whatever that means -- what exactly speed up?).
So, I installed the RC2 onto my VM on VMware Server under Ubuntu Gutsy. It installed without any problems although it took about 30-40 minutes.
Afterwards I didn't notice any difference at all -- not even the boot logo thing (which changed from green to blue when SP2 was installed) changed.
However, I found that I had to refix the screen res back to 1280x1024 on every reboot (it always came up as 1280x800 which is strange as I don't have a widescreen).
