I've used Skype for a long time mainly to make overseas calls. However, when I installed Skype in UbuntuEee 8.04.1 on my Asus EeePC 901, I could never quite get it to work as I kept getting an error stating "Problem with Audio Capture".
Turns out the fix is very easy.
Just go to the small blue Skype icon in the bottom left corner of the Skype window and left-click on it. Then click Options>>Sound Devices.
Now you can choose the appropriate devices for Sound In, Sound Out and Ringing. In my case the appropriate device was "Default device (default)".
After that, everything worked perfectly.
