File transfer that won't work with woof works fine with OperaUnite

I had written a short while ago about a surprising, but still unresolved, problem in using woof to transfer files between my EeePC901 (Ubuntu Jaunty) and an AMD64 computer (also Jaunty).
Today, after upgrading to Karmic on the 901, I tried OperaUnity (build 4644) from the EeePC (karmic) to the AMD64 (Jaunty). This worked perfectly with no problems either viewing or downloading the files (up to several kB in size at least).
So whatever is impeding woof, ssh and scp doesn't seem to have any adverse influence on OperaUnite.
