Installing legacy Grub in Karmic Koala

I already posted about clean installing Karmic on my MacBook where it works very well with an impressive 50 second boot time.
However, I initially booted it from Grub1 which was associated with Linux Mint which I have on another partition here on the Mac.
Now, using this guide, I taken out Grub2 from Karmic and replaced it with Grub 0.97 which I've put into the mbr to replace that of Linux Mint.
No problems, everything worked smoothly.
So, now I think I'm ready to clean install Karmic onto my EeePC 901 so might do this in the next few days.
