In Easy Mode I could use the Webcam icon to start this up but don't have this in Advanced mode. I found this page in the wiki which show show to enable the camera at boot and put an icon in the tray.
However, enabling the camera via the icon does NOT actually start up the camera.
I posted to the forum about this and learned that to start the camera you type
ucview
in a terminal.
Note that this works whether or not the camera is enabled meaning that the icon is essentially useless.
