Wireless in Jaunty on Mac

I saw almost straightaway that all was not well with the wireless performance here.
First, it took quite a while to connect after the boot -- perhaps 1-2 minutes.
Then it very frequently disconnected, perhaps hourly. However, reconnection was straightforward.
Nevertheless, overall, performance was poor.
A possible solution was found here (scroll down to Wireless (AirPort)) which just amounts to running this command:

sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-jaunty

So far, I have certainly seen an improvement as wireless connection is immediate on boot and in the four hours since I booted I have not lost connection. So, looks good.
